修課程及研究所基礎課程。
2. 具教學及服務熱忱，能參與系上教學與服務。

4. 具備團隊合作精神，能參與跨領域整合型研究計畫或人才培育計畫。

Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Positions
Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Cheng Kung University
Established in 1931, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) is a prominent national university in
Tainan, Taiwan. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of NCKU’s earliest established
departments. In the 2026 QS World University Rankings, NCKU is ranked #203 overall, while in the QS
subject ranking for Mechanical Engineering, NCKU is ranked #151-200.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at NCKU invites applications for tenure-track faculty
positions at the ranks of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Candidates with research expertise in all
areas of mechanical engineering are encouraged to apply. Appointments will begin on February 1,
2027or August 1, 2027.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Candidates
with teaching experience and the ability to teach in English are particularly preferred. Applicants who
have received prestigious recognitions such as the NSTC “2030 Cross-Generation Young Scholars
Program,” “Einstein Program,” “Columbus Program,” or the “Wu Ta-You Memorial Award,” as well as
the Ministry of Education’s “Yushan Scholar Program,” will receive priority consideration.
New faculty members who meet the eligibility criteria for the National Science and Technology Council
(NSTC) “Program for Recruiting Outstanding Talents to Universities” will be assisted by the department
in applying for additional flexible salary support. In addition, outstanding candidates will be
recommended for supplementary salary support from the Cheng Kung Mechanical Engineering
Foundation.
1. The applicant’s research expertise should fall within at least one of the following areas of mechanical
engineering: Thermal-fluid science and energy, solid mechanics, mechanical design, manufacturing
and materials, or system and control.
2. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
(1) Offer at least one fully English-taught course per academic year and at least two required courses
in undergraduate or graduate foundational subjects.
(2) Demonstrate a strong passion for teaching and service, with active involvement in teaching and
departmental activities.
(3) Possess independent research capabilities, with a record of research accomplishments published
in international journals.
(4) Exhibit a spirit of teamwork and be willing to participate in interdisciplinary research projects or
talent cultivation programs.
3. A complete application should include the following:
(1) Faculty position application form (download link).
(2) A copy of the current employment certificate.
(3) A detailed curriculum vitae highlighting career achievements, research areas, teaching
experience, publications, and awards/honors, as well as research grants and students supervised
(especially important for Associate or Full Professor applicants).
(4) List of publications.
(5) Representative research papers from the last five years (up to five papers).
(6) Three reference letters (to be sent directly via email in PDF format by the referees to the Search
Committee Chairman).
(7) A copy of the doctoral degree certificate, or a letter indicating the expected graduation date
signed by the applicant’s thesis advisor.
(8) Transcripts or academic records from undergraduate and graduate studies.
(9) A statement of teaching interests with course syllabi.
(10) A statement of research plans outlining intended projects, required resources, and potential
external funding sources (maximum three pages).
(11) Other materials demonstrating the applicant’s accomplishments (e.g., certificates of award,
patents, research projects).
