自傳

 

  莊嘉揚教授於1997年及1999年分別獲得國立臺灣大學機械工程學士與碩士學位,並於2006年取得美國加州大學柏克萊分校機械工程博士學位。他的博士研究由電腦力學實驗室(Computer Mechanics Laboratory, CML)與加州州立奈米科技獎學金(California State Nanotechnology Fellowship)資助。


  2006年至2011年間,莊教授先後於美國加州矽谷的日立全球儲存科技公司(Hitachi Global Storage Technologies)及威騰電子公司(Western Digital Corp.)擔任研究員與資深首席工程師。

 

  2011年起,他加入國立臺灣大學機械工程學系任教,目前為國立臺灣大學特聘教授兼系主任,同時也是美國機械工程師學會(ASME)會士及美國電機電子工程師學會(IEEE)資深會員。現任科技部機械司固體力學學門召集人。

 

  莊教授的研究領域包括:軟體機器人與形變結構(Soft Robotics / Shape Morphing)、仿生設計與生物力學(Bioinspired Design / Biomechanics)、機器學習(Machine Learning)、以及薄膜材料、大氣壓電漿噴流與雷射製程(Thin Film Materials / Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jet / Laser Processing)等。

 

  他擁有16項美國專利、1項臺灣專利、1項中國專利,以及多項美國專利申請中。至今已發表期刊論文61篇、國際會議論文56篇,並擔任三個國際期刊的編輯委員,同時為99種期刊擔任審稿人。

 

  莊教授榮獲美國機械工程師學會資訊儲存與處理系統年會(ASME ISPS)第28屆、29屆與第32屆(2019、2020、2023)最佳論文獎。

軟性機器人/形狀變換、仿生設計/仿生力學、機器學習、奈米薄膜/大氣電漿/雷射加工

 

 


實驗研究方向

 

  本實驗室旨在研究工程及自然界中具有多尺度的系統與元件,研究核心是「結構與材料力學」、方針是「工程與自然、力與美的結合」、方法是「結合理論、模擬與實驗」。目前的研究主題有:

(1) 軟性機器人/形狀變換:設計利用挫屈大變形驅動的軟性機器人。

(2) 仿生設計/生物力學:研究動植物結構的力學性質,以期了解生物材料/結構設計的秘密,提供開發仿生設計的參考,近期研究主題有鳥類及爬行動物蛋殼的勁度、龍腦香科植物翅果的飛行力學與洋紫荊果莢的爆裂力學。

(3) 機器學習:研究機器學習設計功能性複合材料與結構。

(4) 奈米薄膜/大氣電漿/雷射加工:開發大氣電漿鍍膜系統,製備大面積透明導電薄膜,可用在顯示面板和太陽能電池的電極;
